Folliclitis of the Scalp

O.K. I understand now.  Folliclitis of the scalp is always referred to another doctor.  It's happening  to me.  The first doctor I visited was my family practitioner.  He wanted blood tests right away! He wanted to rule out diabetes and thyroid dysfunction.  He would not give me a referral to a dermatologist until I give them blood.  O.K. did that.  I go to the dermatologist and instead of a doctor I have a PA.  I felt lucky because she was a SHE and communication would be much better.  She treated me for several visits. She took hair with root samples, then a punch biopsy, found a staph infection and the diagnosis of folliculitis. Referred me to a Neurologist, a nerve specialist.   She gave me antibiotics and a pill to deaden the nerve endings.  The pill for deadening the nerve endings made my hands and toes numb.  I stopped taking it.  The antibiotics made me sick. The Neurologist referred me back to the dermatologist PA after giving me electrical shocks to the nerves in my right arm and right leg. I declined the next step of his procedure, needles in my muscles.   I called into the dermatology office and they wanted to see me right away.  I went in, fever and chills and they again took a punch biopsy and blood and changed my antibiotics.  Within five days they called to say "come into the office".  It was late in the day and no other "patients" were there only staff.
They told me they were referring me out to someone who could help me, that I needed an MRI of my head, and a team of doctors.  "Would you like to go to Mayo or Emory Clinic.  Being really frightened I chose Mayo.  Three weeks later Mayo  called me.  I couldn't go down to Jacksonville, Florida.  We had no extra funds for a visit there.  Just recently my husband phoned Emory Clinic and following all procedures gleaned an appointment for me. With hope in my heart for a cure we drove two and a half hours at 6:00 A.M. only to have this doctor tell me that I needed to be referred to a "shrink," " to get to the root of this head picking problem, because your scalp is perfectly normal".

My scalp is anything but normal!!!!!  I have an infection of the hair follicle!!!!!  How do I get rid of this infection, bacteria, virus, etc.etc.etc. WHAT THE HELL IS IT?????

This dermatologist was trying to convince me that what my hand and fingers are clearing off of my poor aching head and scalp is all in my mind.  That I really have a normal scalp, but I think I have folliclitis...regardless of the lab's report.

This morning I had an AHAA moment!  Oh, I get it.  The diagnosis is folliclitis, that is not treated by a dermatologist.  He doesn't know how to stop it, so they give you referrals elsewhere.  Which means folks the AMA has no answer for folliclitis.  All they can say is "stop touching your head", it will go away? NOT!!

What happens if you don't constantly clean your head of the stuff oozing up through every hair hold is a doming affect.  The blisters continue to blister and pop, laying a sheet of ooze on sections of hair, layer after layer after layer after layer and then a dome between the real scalp and your hair rises up off your head!  Not to mention all the tiny oil channels filling up with puss or infection creating lots of pain and discomfort, under the dome.  Itching that can not be scratched. Burning that can be stopped. It's awful.  That's what I did while I was going to the first dermatologist.  Not touching my head except to feel it, I couldn't believe what I was feeling either.  The last biopsy they took was of the dome, not of my pure little real scalp.  Acute Folliclitis.

When I didn't go to the Mayo Clinic, I did go to Dr. Annie Liu.  My acupuncturist.  She gave me treatments for hair and skin and a recipe for an herbal decoction that would kill staph infection which I had that was causing me fever and fatigue.  When I started using the Chinese formula for 3 Yellow Cleanser it began dissolving the dome, clearing my scalp of that "stuff".  Dr Liu told me not to wash my hair too much because the bacteria would grow more.  Change my pillow cases and sheets each day.

I did that for a while when my good friend, Lay Midwife Sarahn Henderson told me that I should use old fashioned Pine Tar soap to wash my hair every other day.  Thank Goddess for this piece of information.  I ordered off the Internet and I have been washing every night with this soap to keep the infection down.  Then I apply the 3 yellow cleanser with cotton balls to the most infected areas of my scalp then blow dry my hair.  So far it keeps all of this stuff on my scalp in check.

I will continue to try to find the cure because I know all of you out there with this folliclitis are having the same problem that I am.  When I find the cure I will LET YOU KNOW!  I LOVE YOU.

Scalp Infection Staph Infection Follicullitis

FLASH!!!            This is July 27th/2015.   I think we have finally found the cause, Demodex Parasites in the roots of my hair!    GET HELP FOR DEMODEX PARASITES! GET A BIOSPY FOR THEM? I'm so sorry that you have any of the above named conditions!  I have all of them and it's been since Februrary 2011 since it first started.  INTENSE ITCHING. INTENSE BURNING. Blisters that bubble up one on top of another and another, until finally you feel like you have a cardboard scalp.

I went to the doctors, they gave me three rounds of antibiotics and endless shampoos and lotions.  Even had two cortizone shots into my scalp....it all seemed to make it worse.

The worst of all is I thought the doctors knew about what to do.  They don't  really.  They actually told me I needed a team of doctors and sent me away with a staph infection on my scalp.  Of course in all fairness the doctors wanted me to go to the Mayo Clinic and referred me there, but I didn't have enough $$$$ to go.  It's probably for the best though, I took my power back and begin trying to find the cure for myself and you.

What I've listed in my last post definitly helps.  You need that Pine Tar Soap in the shower everyday at least once.  You need that 3 Yellow Cleanser from the Scar Family too.  Even while your hair is wet you can generously with a cotton ball put that 3 Yellow Cleanser on your scalp. WARNING: 3 yellow cleanser turns blonde hair yellow......but it is so worth it. You don't want pus coming out of your scalp, this takes care of that kind of infection....well it has for me.  I don't eat sugar or greasy foods.  I only use Organic Olive Oil.

This may sound gross to you, but what I do in the shower with the Pine Tar soap is get a good lather going, then kind of dig deeper into my scalp, each time I wash.  I have actually cleared the build up that I had.  The soap seems to take it down day by day.  I can finally feel my true scalp again and every day washing helps me feel clean which is also good for my psychi.

The Cleanser will keep staph in check.  It has a drying effect on the scalp, the oozy blisters, the itching and burning and finally long awaited peace. I take some with me when I leave the house.  I found that if I sweat my scalp will begin to burn and itch...so I dab it with my 3 yellow cleanser cotton ball. They travel well in a  sealed snack bag.

Since I wrote last I have researched  what I have.  The staph infection is so resistant to antibiotics.  Staph will send out a glue like substance that protects itself like a sheild from your natural immune defense system....so....the CDC is telling me that they don't really have a antibiotic that really kills the stuff.  Some new ones are in the works, but actually not quite proven to do the job yet.

This kind of reminds me of cock roaches...they learn to adapt to all the  bug sprays available and still they live on.

THESE ARE A COUPLE OF REMEDIES THAT REALLY HELP YOU LIVE WITH THIS BACTERIA on your head.  If you know of a complete cure, sign up and please POST YOUR CURE!

Those itching burning blisters on your scalp need some PINE TAR SOAP.  I bought some online at Grandpa's Pine Tar website.  I must admit that the condition of my scalp is surely changing, for the better? for the worst?  It's hard to say.  I have so much oil shooting up from the hair follicules it's unbelievable to me.  It just keeps coming and coming.  Every day for the last week I have washed my hair in the Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap Original and the oil is consumed and washed away.  My hair feels clean and normal, then the oil begins to bubble up again.  The very small bubbles, the size of a hair hole come us right at the root which is blackened too.  Then the oil glands go into action, sending oil to the surface of my scalp.  However, because I have been washing every day I have been able to clear away  stiff crunchy layers of five month old dried bubbles and stuck together hairs that formed on the top of my head.  My crown chakra.
I continue to treat the wetness and burning that I feel which I believe to be the folliculitis infection with the Scar Family product 3 Yellow Cleanser Kit $9.99, I buy it online too.  It takes me a week to use a quart of the solution which is made right in my kitchen..  I frankly don't know if this is a cure just yet.  I seem to have an advanced case which went totally untreated until I began this blog.  Taking action and empowering myself to find a SOLUTION to this horrible condition that captures so much of my time and energy.  But I will for sure let you know when I am free of this and I am trailblazing by writing this blog. Remember, one dermatologist sent me away with a shampoo for hair loss, making me feel "stupid" that surely I was only loosing my hair, silly lady. The next "group" of dermatologists did two biopsies, one culture of a few pulled hairs and then sent me away to The Mayo Clinic so a team of physicians could study me.  That's when I had enough of the dermatologists.  Now I know there is a cure and I am affirming that my scalp returns to normal.  I AM A NORMAL HEALTHY SCALP ONCE AGAIN.

What's this crusty stuff on my head?

So you decided to Google to see what's up on your scalp.  Lots of sites with some interesting stuff on it, but I'm telling you today, you most likely have a malady on your scalp called FOLLICULITIS. And it's just starting too.  Your scalp itches like crazy and you have noticed that you have a few new parts in your hair that you didn't have a couple of months ago.  Right? Like your hair is missing in places, not in round patches but in parts.

GO RIGHT NOW TO AN CHINESE ACUPUNCTURIST, he or she has treatments and  ask for
FU YIN TAI  Herbal Lotion to soak your head two times a day.  Morning and Evening.  It will turn your hair yellow but it is worth it, believe me.  THEN google : 3 YELLOW CLEANSER and buy some. That's the next step, unless your local chinese medicine shop has it available.  It's listed in the chinese heabal books dating back into the 400's B.C. so it's been tested a long time.  Research brings little to the surface about folliculitis.  The dermatogist have no clue really. It is from the ancient formulas of the chinese that may be the cure.  Still little is available concerning the matter especially associated with the scalp.  I am now in day two of trying the cleanser which I received from my TCM acupunturists yesterday. I had to make the teas let cool then washed my hair in it last night, this morning and will continue to apply with cotton balls until tonights hair washing.

The last thing you want to do is start having pus run out of your scalp.  That will need some oral antibiotics.  So do what I say and fast and catch your infection before it spreads to every hair follicule like mine has over the last six months....waiting on the doctor to do something for me........NOT.

I got this goggle blog just for you, so when you googled about your scalp and hair this would HOPEFULLY come up on the first page so you didn't have to go through what I have had to go through for five months, because it only gets worst with time.

Our family doctor gave me blood test to check my thyroid and for diabetes.  I had no problems. No Lupus, nothing else in my blood, everything is aok.

Last year in March of 2010 I had been diagnoised with shingles on the left side of my scalp, forehead and over my left eye.  Valtrex was precribed and shingles vanished except for two hard pimples.  One pimple was on the left side of my head, the other directly in the back center of my head.

This year in February of 2011 I noticed that these pimples were gone and in their place was lot's of itching and this crusty stuff on my head.  I also noticed my hair was missing in short parts along my forehead.

I went to our doctor and he was sure it was diabetes or thyroid and demanded testing, it was neither of those two things.  He looked at it again and gave me another script for Valtrex.  I was experiencing these light and fluffy blisters coming up and breaking and what ever was in those blisters made my hair stick to my scalp.

The blisters kept coming hundreds of blisters, over and over and over they burst up out of every hair hole and laid my hair down with sticky stuff until I had these huge places of matted hair on my scalp.

No one could tell from looking at me, I still had a head full of hair, but under that hair on my scalp and under the matted hair was this fungus of FOLLICULITIS which continue to be active all day and all night.

My hands as my family would tell you were constantly on my head. Still as I write this I am finding my way out of this FOLLICULITIS.

I've been to three dermatologist who sent me away.  One has sent me to a Neurologist and another told me, "oh, you are just loosing your hair!" which by the way, I am not loosing my hair, just normal hair loss. The third is sending me to Mayo Clinic to a Neurologist.  Which by the way I do not need to do because my acupuncturist is treating me for hair and skin with needles, then I drink some very good teas and use the Fu Yin Tai Herbal lotion on my hair at night and in the day.  I am having great success!  In three weeks layer upon layer of matting is dissolving and the oils of my scalp are surfacing.  All that hair that was buried so long is now free and soft and HAPPY.

I suffered for five months with my hand on top of my head, my fingers feeling and picking and scatching and the worry that has been involved and the patience that my family has had to learn...... that's why I started this blog.  Hopefully you will go now and don't waste your $$$$$$$$$$$ on dermatology, or doctors, unless the Chinese Medicine doesn't stop the crusting, itching, blisters and give you  your clean head of hair back.

I don't know how long this will take to heal, it's been five months matting and blistering, so I imagine it will take another couple of weeks, but I am so grateful for my accupuncturist and her medicine.

I would imagine that you do not have to have an accupuncture treatment if you do not want one, just find the FU YIN TAI and some great teas for your hair and skin.
